An Indiana day care worker was fired after allegedly spanking a toddler.
According to reports on the day care worker at Nannie Capen’s Home Daycare on 4321 S. Mann Road allegedly swatted a two-year-old girl on her rear end and put her in a high chair for time out. The mother reportedly called police to report the incident, saying the worker hit her daughter hard enough to leave a bruise.
In Indiana, licensened day care center workers are not allowed to spank children, but those who run home day cares can as long as parents are aware of a policy that states they use corporal punishment.
The Department of Child Services and The Bureau of Child Care are investigating the allegations.
