High Temps Cause Mess For Motorists

High summer-like temperatures this week caused some road repairs completed last fall and winter to fall apart.

According to several news reports, the 90 degree temperatures that hit the city this week along with the large amounts of rain that has fallen over the past few weeks may have created a massive mess for motorists.

Many drivers were complaining of a tar-like substance across the roadways and all over their vehicles.

According to city officials, the substance came from cracks that were sealed. Indianapolis sent out city crews to help clean up the mess. Crews from the Department of Public Works were spreading sand around in efforts to soak up the melted sealant.
