Motorcyclist killed, driver arrested on I-465

Todd Klebes, 41, Indianapolis, died after his westbound motorcycle was struck from behind about 11:20 p.m. by a car driven by Kevin Scott Davis, 24, Indianapolis, according to the Indiana State Police.

An off-duty Lawrence police officer was the first unit on the scene of a fatal accident on the north side.

It happened around 11:20 p.m. Sunday night when Indiana State Police say a passenger car apparently ran into the rear-end of a motorcycle on westbound I-465 between the Meridian Street and Michigan Road.

According to a preliminarily investigation, Troopers believe a Honda passenger car driven by Kevin Scott Davis, 24 of Indianapolis, was traveling at a high rate of speed in the center lane of I-465.

Davis’ car apparently ran up and struck the Victory motorcycle, sending it approximately 200 yards down I-465 and off the side of the road.

The driver of the motorcycle, Todd Klebes, 41 of Indianapolis, died at the scene.
