Donna Miner, 50, charged with DWI by Fox59 3.1.13

Indianapolis Metropolitan police officers arrested a woman after an early morning Friday crash that left a man dead.

Donna Miner was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle causing death, a “C” felony.

It happened around 1:58 a.m. at That Place Bar located near South Emerson and County Line Road. Police said the woman and her fiancé had been arguing at the bar, an argument that spilled over into the parking lot.

Miner and her fiancé both got into the man’s Jeep, but Miner insisted she was better to drive, according to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. The man asked what would happen to Miner’s car, which would have to remain in the parking lot since they were in his Jeep.

The man said he’d drive her car, and left the SUV. Miner thought her fiancé was clear of her vehicle, the report said. She backed up and ran over him, telling police she wasn’t sure why he’d stepped behind the SUV.

Investigators said Miner had a few drinks at the bar prior to the accident. Her fiancé had also been drinking.

Police haven’t released the victim’s name because they still need to notify family members.
